DONATE

Our mission is to build a sovereign organization that can produce Hip Hop at a level of authenticity and accessibility that the corporate industry cannot replicate. We uplift our most empowered voices in the Hip Hop and Activist community, with the power and protection of our 501c3 status to create an economic base of self-determination, and take back the ownership of what Hip Hop truly means to the community it originates from.

3 PILLARS:

SOCIAL JUSTICE EVENTS

Our social justice events are supported by community funds and sponsorships to allow free and accessible experiences for all. These events are centered around the most pressing social justice issues that our communities face. In addition to serving as community spaces for creative expression and healing, these events disrupt the current models of consumer capitalism that inhibit Hip Hop from shining at its best.

EDUCATION

We have taught over 25,000 youth nationwide and internationally the history of Hip Hop evolution, music, and culture. Our program gives K-12 and university level students the tools they need to facilitate positive self-expression and better understand Hip Hop Culture, which is rooted in Peace, Love, Unity, and Having Fun.

APPLY TODAY

BIPOC candidates are highly encouraged to apply for a job at Hip Hop For Change.

The primary function of our grassroots program is to generate organizers and activists by giving them the skills, tools, and resources to advocate for our community. Secondarily, they work in resourced affluent neighborhoods, seeking allies to bring back funds to our marginalized communities.

COVID-19 UPDATES

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have lost 25% of our donor base and were forced to let go of our entire grassroots canvassing team. Additionally, COVID-19 policies mandating nationwide school closures have paused our pending contracts for the remaining school year. Many of our artist educators rely on these teaching contracts and are struggling to stay financially secure.

Despite economic hardship, we are still doing inspirational work in the community and being recognized for it. In the midst of COVID-19, we have developed an online Hip Hop curriculum, provided jobs to local artists, and started building a free recording studio for the youth to express themselves.

Black dreams and Black futures are worth still fighting for! Please consider becoming a monthly donor as we navigate through these difficult times together. Thank you, from the Hip Hop For Change family.

HH4C STUDIOS

We are very excited to announce that our long-time dream of owning our own professional recording studio is now a reality! We started construction on August 1, 2020 and we hope to have it completed by summer 2021.

Hip Hop For Change Recording Studios will be a FREE community space for youth under 24 to emotionally and creatively express themselves. It will also help us create sound engineering jobs for local artists. The studio triples as an additional space for our Education Department to program Hip Hop classes and workshops from. From tracking and mixing, beat-making and rapping, to podcasting and video editing, we want this space to be a welcoming environment for all things Hip Hop.

We are calling on our supporters to help us build a state of the art studio and pay for the digital equipment needed to operate it. Please consider donating and being a part of this very special journey as we move our dream forward. Let's invest in our youth together!

LOOK FRESH WHILE FIGHTING FOR SOCIAL JUSTICE!

Hip Hop For Change does not take corporate donations. We are 100% funded by the community, and we could not do the work that we do without the help of our supporters and monthly donors. Thank you!
